it's more cat and dog silly [21 Jul 2006|12:26am]
semjayhey this quiz looks similiar to one I made a few years ago...heheh

You Are: 30% Dog, 70% Cat

You and cats have a lot in common.
You're both smart and in charge - with a good amount of attitude.
However, you do have a very playful side that occasionally comes out!

Talk about a really wierd way to advertise a new horror movie.
Ok so the announcer mentions 2 very scary movies Saw, and Hostel...

and then he says the scariest horror movie since ALIENS!
---?

Huh, Aliens? Since when was Aliens scary?
It's been a long time but I'm pretty sure I've seen Aliens and I don't remember being scared.

So from Saw, to Hostel, to Aliens?
on a scare factor?

ok yeah.

that was pointless post today.

I'm tired lol

fun diversion for a That 70's Show fan [17 Jul 2006|08:34pm]
[ mood | calm ]

This is an incredibly interesting idea for a rating community. rather than the yes or no crap based on shallow reasons, this is all just a character personality assessment based on what is filled out on the application
it's a lot more laid bac than a picky fan community
so are you Donna, Eric, Hyde, Kelso, Red, Kitty, Jackie, etc, this is a lot of fun.
So if you like that 70's show try it out.
hmmm i wonder if there's a buffy one like this....

Blasts from college past [16 Jul 2006|04:37pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Oh wow, it was so nice to see a couple of my friends that I haven't seen for many years. They are married and have 2 kids, the baby was just baptized today and there was a little party for him and we were invited to go. It was so nice catching up, Christine is still just as pretty as she was in college, same long pretty hair and everything. Matt her husband well he looks the same except for his hair is shorter than when he was in school his hair was always long back then.
they are doing pretty well for themselves both grade school teachers, and living in sunny and nice Florida.

Chris and I almost didn't go, because well sometimes it's hard to go back when you haven't seen someone in so long. But wow it was just like old times, and it was so funny too because we stayed a little longer than expected because Christine and I just kept gabbing away about what's going on and talked about other silly things. It was just fab. I was happy that she liked the baptism present too.

Ok well I guess this post wasn't as exciting as I thought it might be, but it was really nice to see them again.
Now there's another friend from college years that I'd love to talk to again, Christine said she'll email me her email. Hopefully I can get ahold of her.

And guys and gals out there if you are still reading, just because you might lose touch with old friends doesn't mean you'll never have contact with them again. I've seen a few posts here and there talking about friends dissapearing, and how sad it is like high school pals and such, but honestly though unless it was a really big ordeal all isn't lost you may see them again.

In fact a girl I never thought I'd ever see again is now going to be working with me in psychology club at school. I haven't seen her since I was very young in grade school.
So I guess you never know what is going to happen the past can come back and in a good way.

Cat vs. Dog [13 Jul 2006|06:46am]
[ mood | contemplative ]

This is just out of curiosity, I think I have an idea of what animal will win...
I'm just curious how many dog and cat people I have on my list...

Poll #768441 Cat vs. Dog

There is no both as option, think hard if you had to choose what animal you like better, is it a cat or a dog?

if i have to choose, it's gotta be cats
15(83.3%)
if i have to choose, it's gotta be dogs
3(16.7%)

Any particular reason why you prefer the one over other?

an attempt at something normal...although it seems like it's going geek again oh well [13 Jul 2006|12:27am]
[ mood | weeee ]

So I'm not on my laptop, I'm on my dad's computer while watching I love the 70's Volume 2 1975. Wooo hooooT! to the mention of Rocky Horror Picture Show! Wow I haven't seen that movie or heard the songs in a while now. I'm very tempted to drag out my vhs of it. I swear these i love the (insert decade) on vh1 are sublimonal. Some of this stuff I don't remember but it's fun watching the comedians talk about the stuff. Ooo sit and spin! Remember those? I loved loved LOVED my sit and spin when I was young.

So who's excited about Clerks 2 coming out? I can't wait to see the Kevin Smith magic again! It's nice that he's writing for jay and silent bob and the gang instead of all these serious-ish movies as of late. I really hope this and another kick ass comedy will be in the drive in! I haven't been to the drive in this summer yet.

other movies I gotta see:
Pirates of Carribean 2
Little Man
John Tucker Must Die (MIGUEL IS IN IT PASSIONS FANS)

some other possibles although they'll probably wait for dvd
My Super Ex Girlfriend (though I don't think I'll waste ticket money on that, dvd wait, but for some reason I kind of want to see these cheesy girl flick, just looks funny)
Lady in the Water- I wasn't sure about this one, but it is by the sixth sense guy and that movie and others are very good
Monster House- though again another dvd wait
You, Me and Dupree- always up for Owen Wilson I just love him! Although Ben Stiller and Owen should do more movie duo's together the chemistry they have is wow!

But number 1 priority! CLERKS 2!
BRING IT ON BYOTCH!

especially when a line in the trailer "your 32 and still working as a clerk?" I didn't know for sure if the characters were around my age, older and younger, but as it turns out they are right smack in the thirtysomething years!
wow Jay and silent bob truly serves my generation
thank you Kevin thank you!

Modern, Cool Nerd

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used
to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a
pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world
that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and
geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very
least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent,
knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing
computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one

up there, winning the million bucks)!

wow that was tiny [06 Jul 2006|12:39pm]
[ mood | melancholy ]

Phew I'm sleepy. I had to get up early to sing a funeral. I can't believe how small it was. There were only like 10 people there! The woman was 94 so she lived a long life. It got me thinking a lot about my funeral. I'm the youngest in my family, and at this point I don't know if I will have my own children or not. As such I wonder if my funeral will be very small. It kind of depressed me a little for the old lady that not many people were there. What about friends not just family? Oh well, perhaps she was shy...or mean. OMG I can't believe I thought that. yikes.

This is probably my 4th or 5th funeral I've sang, and it still feels strange to me. I will admit watching the emotions of the people there is interesting.

This funeral reminded me of Eleanor Rigby.

"died in a church and was buried along with her name
nobody came..."

even the organist didn't know her name.

------------
at least afterwards dad took me to pizza hut for lunch buffet. I ran into one of my oldest friends there too, who I was just talking to last night.
She has another baby on the way, so she was telling me about that. Her son is getting so big now. He's such a cutie. It's nice to see life,
wow I'm melancholy right now. :(

laptop blues [06 Jul 2006|12:49am]
[ mood | frustrated ]

As I figured I wrote this earlier when the sun was still up...

wow what is the point of having a laptop if you can't use it in other places around the house?
I decided to try and use it outside on my deck but it's so blasted bright (even though I'm sort of in shade) but the screen is so faded it's hard to see. Not to mention that even though we have wireless, it's not very strong even though I'm upstairs, I thought for sure I'd be close enough to my room to pick it up. It's sort of working but the connection is still a bit slow. In fact I'm writing this entry in my notepad and may have to send it later to my journal depending on if it will take it now.

it's nice to be able to use my lt on my bed and lap and whatever but it's so annoying that the signal is so weak, that it only reaches so far.

Laptops are a really nice convenience but there were a lot more things I thought I would be able to do before I had one. i thought I'd be able to use it anywhere I could plug it in, little did I know it was more complicated than that.
and while I'm complaining, I spent extra money on a dvd burner, but I haven't been able to figure out how the hell to copy a dvd at all. At least I can play them anyways.

well that's it for my summer outside with my laptop rant

america's got talent [22 Jun 2006|02:39am]
[ mood | cynical ]

Yeah as long as it's popular normal crap! the people that got through were talented, but it seems to me there were some other acts that were good that should have gone through like the transvestites that the judges even admitted COULD sing! So from what I'm gathering is if they weren't dressed in retro b-52 drag, oh and being fat probably didn't help their chances either, maybe then they would have had a better chance.
then there's also the lady with the harp but also sang.
I think they gonged her because she was eccentric and that she did an old fashioned song. She was talented, they even said that but wasn't "right" for this show.

and then we got this balloon maker singer that made a balloon design of regis and sang on key, but I think because the act was so quote and quote "strange" they wouldn't have none of that.

So i don't know maybe it's too soon to judge this show but it seems to me what they are mostly looking for is conventional talent. Anything non traditional is kicked off.
So drag queens and old people singing opera better stay the hell home they don't have a chance.

It's suttle but the show seems very conservative.
another thing that doesn't seem right is singers(that don't do anything else) on this particular show. that's what American Idol is for! and yet I'm willing to bet money that when the final number of competitors is chosen, at least 75 percent of them will just be nothing but singers.

i'm not sure what to think of this show, it's already irritating me. They should welcome a lot more variety.

I missed the first half of the show was it any different?
did anyone else bother watching?

The rappin' granny rocked the house though. lol
